Mercury mTab2 Android Tablet Lands in India at Rs.11,999

We have seen a lot of lower end cheaper android powered tablets coming out lately. Although the Aakash tablet is the cheapest, the mTab2 from Mercury launched today will sell in the market at Rs.11,999 with other competitors like Reliance 3G Tab, iBall Slide, etc.

Surprisingly at a low price it offers a 1Ghz Dual-Core Processor, 512MB RAM and runs on Android 2.3 gingerbread. I doubt there will be a future ICS update.

"Our first launch was immensely appreciated and accepted by the masses, it only motivated us to bring in a superior product at an affordable price for our consumers. Features like USB, Battery backup and internal storage are vital features for the regular users and mTab2 brings all packed in a lighter version of 365gm this time. We shall be announcing our the next generation models in a very short time, our partners should look ahead for the excitement to continue" said Sushmita Das, Country Manager - India , Kobian Pte Ltd.

A 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, 8GB of built-in storage expandable with microSD (up to 32GB), USB2.0 port, HDMI out, and Wi-Fi connectivity are present in the mTab2. It's available with a 1yr warranty.
