Sony has launched three new point-and-shoot cameras to the line-up of Cyber-shot family, namely DSC-WX50, DSC-WX70 AND DSC-TX200V. We wish they had better model names or numbers!
The first two WX50 and WX70 are identical in terms of specs as well as looks. Similarities include 16.2 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensors, 5x optical zoom, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar optics, Sony’s BIONZ processor, ISO 3200 (ISO 12800 using software tricks) and 1080i video at 60fps. Apart from these similarities the only exception between the two is WX50 comes with a small 2.7-inch, 460k dot display and the WX70 carries a large 3-inch, 921k dot touchscreen display. DSC-WX50 will cost $199.99 and DSC-WX-70 is priced at $229.99.

The third one called 'DSC-TX200V' is rather an interesting camera. An ultra-thin body, a reflective reinforced glass on the front for waterproof shooting down to 16 feet, and the ability to also protect the shooter from dust and freezing temperatures of 14 degrees Fahrenheit make it all tempting. Other features include a 18.2 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, 1080/60p video capture, 26mm 5x optical zoom and a fast auto focus system capable of focusing in 0.13 seconds in daylight and 0.25 seconds in low light. The rear has a 3.3-inch, wide Xtra Fine TruBlack OLED touchscreen display. The TX200V will cost you $499.99 and will be available from March.
