Maruti Suzuki have launched the all-new Swift Dzire, their first sub-four-meter offering in the highly competitive saloon category. The new Dzire comes with both Petrol and Diesel engines - A K12M VVT 1.2-litre petrol engine putting out 85bhp @6000 rpm and 11.6kgm of torque at 4000 rpm. The other option is the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor producing 74bhp @4000 rpm with 19.37kgm of torque @2000 rpm. Maruti is also offering a 4-speed automatic gearbox this time around, though it is available only with the Petrol-powered Dzire in VXi trim. In total, the new Dzire comes in seven different trim levels; four petrol and three diesel, with prices starting at a reasonable Rs 4.79 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the range-starting LXi version, going all the way to Rs 7.09 lakh for the top-spec ZDi Diesel that comes with all the bells and whistles. However, these are introductory prices and will go up in a few months time.
