New Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

Behold the most powerful roadster the world has ever seen - the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.

To give you an idea just how mental this new Veyron is, here are a few numbers; 1185hp @ 6400rpm and 153kgm of tarmac shattering torque when the engine spins between 3000-5000rpm. That's 197bhp and 26kgm up from the standard Veyron's 987bhp and 127kgm (the standard Veyron, on its own, is quick enough to tear your face off!) The new 'Vitesse' - which is French for ''speed'', is basically a mixture of Super Sport and Grand Sport versions of the Veyron. The engine itself is a work of art; its an 8-litre, 16-cylinder engine with 4 turbochargers, yes, four! And while we're at it, the number of radiators in total is ten.

The extra juice over the standard Veyron's engine has been squeezed by enlarging all the four turbo-chargers and intercoolers. Bugatti have also beefed up the chassis to cope with the extra power, they have claimed that the Vitesse will hit a top speed of over 400kmph, making it the fastest and most powerful roadster of all time.

Pricing will be somewhere close to that of the Super Sport. We'll get to more details after it's been revealed at the 2012 Geneva motor show to be held next month.
