Samsung reveals Galaxy Beam, now your Android smartphone has a built-in HD projector

Samsung has started-off revealing their line-up for Mobile World Congress with this new offering in the galaxy line-up called the 'Galaxy Beam'.

This built-in projector is capable of 15 lumens of brightness and also project HD stuff on to surfaces up to 50 feet wide. Things like videos, pictures, presentations and even games can be thrown on to a surface from this 4" display. A special app has been designed by Samsung to do this. We wish they had added Android 4.0 ICS instead of Gingerbread here. One specification that is shocking us here is 6GB of RAM.

Samsung failed to give pricing details but the phone is expected to be available in March. Apart from the projector, other specifications include:
  • 1Ghz dual-core processor
  • 5-megapixel rear with a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera, 720p@30fps video recording
  • 4-inch display with an 800 x 480 resolution
  • 2000mAh battery
  • 8GB internal memory
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-fi  MicroUSB 2.0 and a 3.5mm audio jack.
