4 Flash Mobs in 4 Cities: At Nokia Lumia 800's India Launch



That's the publicity stunt Nokia used. On December 10, right in the middle of crowded malls, Nokia successfully organised 4 Flash Mobs that started simultaneously in 4 Cities of India - New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru in an effort to mark the launch of Nokia Lumia 800 in India.

It's funny to what extent big companies can for a product launch. Lumia is a desperate move by Nokia to regain their market share. Following the fame we saw of the first Flash Mob at Mumbai's CST station on social networking websites Facebook & Twitter, Nokia used this hype in their benefit by organizing such first-of-its-kind product launch. 

There other strategic publicity plans for the Lumia 800 also include: Every Nokia employee will visit the Nokia store on first day of launch, 12500 trained brand advocates in India for retail, 5000 retail outlets, Nokia Lumia will have 750 locally relevant apps in India, out of the 35000 apps globally. 

The Nokia Lumia 800 & 710, first Windows powered phones will be available by 15th or 16th December and are priced at approximately Rs.29,999 and Rs19,999  respectively. Nokia also announced the launch of its 360 degree digital and marketing campaign titled ‘Amazing Everyday’ which will aim at making everyday moments more amazing with unique experiences created for the consumers across the Mumbai city.

Tennis player Sania Mirza with Prashanth Mani from Nokia (Regional General Manager  for West India) launched the new retail format for Nokia Lumia family and "Amazing Everyday" campaign in Mumbai.
